ACCOMMODATIONS...

Our families and friends are staying from one end of the strip to the other, and some even off of the strip. The fact of the matter is, the options are endless. We  recommend that if you have never been to Vegas, you stay on the strip. However, if you are sensitive to the outrageous or have small children you may want to consider staying at a resort, or timeshare, that is off of the strip. Please consider all options when making your decision and do your research to get the best prices possible. Below I will list some of the sites Ryan and I, or family members, have used.

Hotel/Flight Packages Online
Booking flights and hotels together seems to be less expensive than buying both separately. Entering your travel information into sites like the ones listed below will allow you to search multiple sites at once, just make sure your pop-up blocker is turned off.

Booking Through A Travel Agent
We learned that booking through a travel agent is around the same price, but maybe a bit more expensive than booking online independently. However, the benefit of booking with a travel agent is, they typically only required a small deposit to hold your reservation and your trip just has to be paid off by the time you fly out. Below is the link to Silver Star Travel in Vancouver, WA. When we checked with them they only required a $250 deposit for the whole trip.

Vacation Home Rentals
Vacation home rentals are great if you want to stay off strip. They are also a fun option for people who want to stay together to split costs. Please note that transportation may become more of a challenge the further you get from the strip. Below are the links of a couple of avenues to pursue when looking for a place to stay.

TRANSPORTATION...

Your transportation needs may vary, depending on where you choose to stay.  Below, are a few options to consider.

DEUCE on The Strip & Public Bus System
If you are staying ON The Strip-You should strongly consider taking the DEUCE. It runs North and South on the strip 24/7, from the Fremont Street Experience, down to the Four Seasons Hotel (just past the Mandalay Bay Hotel). The DEUCE stops at nearly every hotel and ticket vending machines are located at many of those stops. Please check the link below to locate your hotel and the closest ticket vending machine.

If your are staying OFF of The Strip- Public transit is still an option, however, round the clock stops are not as likely. Below is a link to all of the route maps and schedules provided by the system.

Taxi Cab Services
Taxi cabs will typically wait for customers outside of hotels at specifically designated areas. Check with the  hotel staff to find out where these locations are. Below is an article about the cheapest taxi cabs in Las Vegas. Check it out and maybe program a number or two into your phone.
